The dedicated team of counselling psychotherapists who are qualified and accredited. They bring a wide variety of experience of providing services to 16 to 86 year olds. The team is mentored and supervised by our director Grainne Mooney.

  • MA Counselling / Psychotherapy, Dip in Counselling Supervision, Training & Certification in Group Process, Training & Certification in Critical Incident Response.
  • Co-founder and Clinical Director of True Colours Counselling Services Clondalkin from 2003 to 2020.
  • Close working collaboration with Peter Ledden and his team at Abate EAP Ltd. working as EAP provider, critical incident responder and trainer since 2005.
  • Accredited Member IACP (Irish Association of Counselling Psychotherapy)
  • Accredited Supervisor IACP (Irish Association of Counselling Psychotherapy)
  • Member of Kleinian Association of Ireland
  • Lecturer in Trauma with PCI College, Dublin.

Professional Focus

While maintaining a busy practice and working with her clients Grainne has also facilitated individuals and groups through acute trauma following critical incidents in the workplace. Her reflective practice speaks to peoples’ courage, ability to cope, manage, recover and grow from very challenging situations. Grainne believes in the “self”, it’s autonomy, it’s capacity and possibility of change. Psychoeducation, workshops and training allows her to share her knowledge, experience and passion.

  • B.Sc Hons in Counselling / Psychotherapy; Training & Certification in Sequentially Planned Integrative Counselling for Children; Additional Studies in The Works of Carl Jung.
  • Accredited Member IACP (Irish Association of Counselling Psychotherapy)
  • 2020 joined the team at Nous Psychological Services, Templeogue.
  • 2009 to 2019 Gained considerable experience working with clients in St. Catherine’s Counselling Service in Tallaght.
  • 2019, 2020 & 2021 working with teenagers in secondary school providing one to one sessions to students from age of 12.
  • Currently facilitating adults and teenagers in community development setting through one-to-one meetings.
  • Engaging with on-going education, supervision and training with the Kleinian Association of Ireland

Professional Focus

Having worked with a wide range of clients with variety of presenting issues Catherine’s focus in the last ten years has brought her to committed “working with” clients in a safe space that allows her clients to explore their thoughts and feelings with non-judgemental acceptance. While her integrative approach facilitates adult clients to make informed choices for themselves this attentive approach is especially important to Catherine in her work with young adults. Catherine sees the uniqueness and potential of each individual.
